Simulation and Optimization Software for Retail Now Automatically Integrates Competitor Prices
The automatic comparison with competitor prices offers a decisive competitive advantage
The Retail Simulation Engine from Dacos uses the most up-to-date scientific methods from the field of Artificial Intelligence and econometric models to simulate the behavioural patterns of consumers and use these calculations for the tactical optimization of prices or to plan advertising campaigns. Now, the software also carries out comparisons with competitor prices. The company from Saarbrücken will be presenting its simulation and optimization software with all of its innovations in February: from the 13th to the 14th of February at the SAP-Congress for Retail and The Consumer Goods Industry in Leipzig, as well as at the Euroshop in Düsseldorf from the 23rd to the 27th of February.
Saarbrücken, 22nd January 2008 — "Assortments, prices and promotions in retail shouldn~t be planned predominantly based on gut instinct, but rather must be founded on reliable results derived from scientific methods." states Professor Dr. Joachim Hertel, the Director of Dacos Software. "Our software solutions achieve much more reliable results than existing tools with regard to the planability of sales, sales volumes and returns. Methods from Artificial Intelligence such as for example, machine learning will be indispensible in the future as an instrument for achieving these goals. Today, companies that already optimise their planning with AI have a significant competitive advantage." The company, founded in the Saarland, has adapted the Promotion Engine, a software solution that allows retailers to optimize their promotions, as well as the Price Engine, which supports the optimal fixing of prices to retailer needs.
